Home Minister Shri Amit Shah has introduced the Sahara Refund Portal. Through this portal, the money of investors stuck in Sahara will be returned. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said during this time, “All the data of four cooperative societies is online.
This portal will help 1.7 crore depositors to register themselves. This will get their money back and this will happen within 45 days.” In fact, crores of rupees of millions of investors across the country are stuck in Sahara India. The launch of this portal has given investors hope that their invested money will now be returned.
What Is The Sahara Refund Portal?
Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday 18 July 2023 launched ‘Sahara Refund Portal’ to enable submission of valid claims by genuine depositors of four cooperative societies of Sahara Group. On March 29, the government had said that money would be returned to 10 crore. Investors of four cooperative societies of Sahara Group within 9 months.
After the Supreme Court ordered the transfer of Rs 5,000 crore from the Sahara-SEBI refund account to CRCS, the announcement followed and the funds were transferred to the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS).
“This is a special day for the people whose money has been stagnant in the Sahara cooperative societies for many years,” said Amit Shah, Minister of the Home Department.
The Modi government is moving towards fulfilling its resolve to return. The deposits of those investors, under which ‘Sahara Refund Portal’ has been launched .
How To Apply?
To apply on Sahara Refund Portal, visit the website cooperation.gov.in. Enter valid details of the depositor, and submit the application form for Sahara India Refund. In case of a valid depositor, Sahara India will credit his/her bank account with the refund amount. In this way you can apply on the Sahara Refund Portal.
After applying for refund you can also check the status of your application on the portal.

There is no option in the Sahara refund portal to submit additional documents that have been sought by the verification team. I have understood that all claim requests are getting rejected due to the additional documents (Incometax return proof for last 3 years, Bank statement for last 1 year). If this is required as part of prerequiste, this should have been informed well in advance to the depositors so that these documents would have submitted through portal.
Request you to please look into it on priority as there is no option in portal to resubmit these documents.
