Tuesday (July 18, 2023) is a big day for Sahara’s 10 crore investors. Today Union Home Minister Amit Shah launches Sahara Refund Portal. After the launch of this portal, Sahara investors can claim their money and with this the process of refund will start.
What Is the Sahara Refund Portal?
Sahara Refund Portal has been launched for those investors who had invested money in Sahara schemes years ago and its tenure has completed, but they have not received the money back. This portal has been launched as per the instructions of the Supreme Court, in which the government has been asked to return the money to the investors before December.
On this portal, Sahara investors will get complete information about the process of how to get their money back. Through this portal, the government is trying to return money to investors in a transparent manner.
Let us tell you, an application was filed by the Ministry of Cooperation on March 29, 2023 to return the money of Sahara investors. After this, the Supreme Court had asked to transfer Rs 5,000 crore from the Sahara-SEBI refund account to the Central Registrar, after which this portal has been launched to refund the money.
Most of the investors of Sahara Group are people from middle and lower income group. These are from many states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh.
Who Will Get The Money?
Sahara Group investors have invested in Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Saharan Universal Multipurpose Society Limited, Hamara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited and Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited. What Needs To Be Done To Claim The Money?
First of all investors have to find out in which committee of Sahara Group they have invested money. Documents related to this will have to be submitted. Information related to what role Sahara Agent will play in this will be known only after the launch of the portal.
