Rule of Sahara Refund Portal.  Good days have returned for the investors who defrauded by Sahara Parivar Company. Cooperation Minister Amit Shah launched ‘CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal’ on Tuesday. The objective of this portal is to return crores of people’s hard earned money deposited in four cooperative societies of Sahara Group in about 45 days.

He described it as a historic moment and said that it is the first time. That depositors are getting their money back in a case. Where multiple government agencies involved and each has seized assets. Shah assured the depositors that now no one can stop their money and they will get the refund within 45 days of registering on the portal. 

The government had said on March 29. That money would returned to 10 crore. Investors of the four cooperative societies within nine months.

Sahara-SEBI refund funds of Rs 5,000 crore were transferred from the refund account to the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS).. He said initially depositors will get a refund of up to Rs 10,000. And later the amount will be increased. For those who have invested more. 

He said the Rs 5,000 crore fund will be able to provide relief to 1.7 crore depositors in the first phase. Nearly 2.5 crore people have deposits of up to Rs 30,000 in four cooperative societies – Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Saharan Universal Multipurpose Society Limited, Hamara India Credit Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited and Stars Cooperative Society Limited.

Two Things Are Important 

Shah said that after Rs 5,000 crore given to the depositors. We will approach the Supreme Court and request them to release more money. So, that the entire money of other depositors with larger amounts can be refunded. 

A subsidiary of IFCI has developed the portal for submitting valid claims of depositors of these co-operative societies. As Shah pointed out, two things required. He said that the Common Service Center will help the depositors for online registration on the portal.
